The Rest of February!

Six weeks after his surgery, Steve had an appointment with his Dr.  The doctor said that he is doing very well and right on schedule.  He gets to add some of his favorite things back into his schedule like longer walks, driving the car--oh! the freedom, and soaking in the tub.  Hooray!
He was also willing to take on the project of putting together some shelves so I could better organize my little sewing room and re-organize our closet.  Both of these accomplishments brought excellent results.
We delivered some ministering gifts for valentine's day so that we could spend the next day with Taylor and his kids.  He brought them to CV and stayed overnight to give Jen a much needed break after all the quarantine fun!

The kids loved being with their cousins and we enjoyed seeing all of them have a good time together.
Saturday after lunch, we all headed to Jameson's basketball game.  Sweet Preston fell asleep in June's lap.  She was a great substitute mommy.

We hated to have them leave, but enjoyed their brief visit immensely.  They plan to head to St. George for warmth and sunshine next week.
On President's Day Steve hit his 7 week mark since surgery.  It was briskly cold but we walked anyway.  This week turned into a work week for me as I showed houses to the young married children of some friends three nights in a row.  We looked at more later in the week and then wrote an offer.  I also attended my BNG meeting, CRS meeting and Realtor Day on the Hill with the legislators.
On Tuesday, we saw Taylor's family again before they left for sunny St. George!

Our ward hosted a Relief Society birthday lunch for January and February birthday gals that was fun.
It was also delightful to have a visit from the missionaries serving in several stakes in CV.  Steve especially enjoyed visiting with an elder from an area in Germany where Steve served his mission over 50 years ago.
After attending Realtor Day on the Hill, we drove back to CV so we could attend Britton's high school play that evening.  Britton did a great job singing and dancing in the ensemble group.

Saturday evening, we got to watch Jenna and her partner dance in a competition at a nearby high school.  There were so many kids competing that it was mind boggling and went past midnight.
Jenna and her partner received a third place medal in their individual performance.  They were happy with that.  They dance so beautifully that it is really fun to watch.

During the week I was able to sew this farm pillow case for one of our ministering teen girls named Kay.  When I discovered that FFA was a huge interest of hers, I had to use this fabric I had to make her a birthday gift.  I think she really liked it when Jenna and I delivered it to her on Sunday after church.
That evening we celebrated Jenna's 17th birthday since she had other plans for Monday night.  Adam took her to a Jazz game where they had box seats and lots of free food.  Jazz lost but they had fun.

Jameson wasn't feeling cooperative so he was left out of the family birthday photo.
Happy Birthday, Jenna!  You are a sweet, kind, helpful, smart, amazing young ministering partner.
Steve is ready for a change, so on Monday, he prepped the kitchen for painting.
Tuesday, we drove to SL so I could meet up with some dear friends for lunch.  Ka, Cyndee and I have been friends since we served in a Relief Society Presidency almost a decade ago.  These two friends are amazingly devoted disciples of Christ who continue to set an example for me in every way.  They keep me young and I treasure their friendship!
Wednesday we painted the kitchen and turned it from yellow to a stunning grey.  The white trim and beadboard really stand out now.  We have decided that we really like the new look.
Here's what the kitchen looks like now after we painted.
Happy Birthday to Shawn on Thursday!  We missed going to Texas in February this year due to Dad's surgery.  Hope we can visit that warmer place next winter.
Benson and his friend drove to Charleston on Thursday and set up camp near the venue for President Trump's SC rally scheduled for Friday night.  Due to their diligence, they were among the lucky people to be seated inside the venue.  Thousands of others watched on a jumbotron from outside. Way to go, Benson!
We have a lot of beautiful sunsets that we can enjoy from our kitchen/family room windows.  This was one of those we enjoyed this past week.  This morning we woke up to 6" inches so new snow and the sound of our neighbor Lacie Knight clearing our driveway with her snowblower.  Our neighbors have been so kind to us this winter--helping to clear the snow on MANY occasions.
