July is a Party Month For Sure...

Later in the day after Elsie's baptism, Heather and Aaron left for an exotic trip with Aaron's siblings and parents.  We were to be surrogate parents for a week.  We started off by assisting Abigail with the removal of a baby tooth!  When it was all over, she was smiling again.

On Sunday we had church, dinner and family home evening.  Jantzen was quite busy getting together his scout gear as he was leaving for scout camp bright and early before 6 a.m. on Monday.

We filled the next two days with music lessons, doctor appointments, a soccer game for Quinn, weeding in the yard and garden, harvesting a few ripe veggies, lunch in the park, the splash pad, the playground and the parade for the international dance festival.

Directly after Elsie's checkup with the ophthalmologist on Wednesday morning, we loaded up the Tahoe and headed for Lagoon.  We had plans to hit Lagoon a couple of times to get some use out of those season passes.  I dropped everyone off at Lagoon with Tiffany and headed to SL for some business appointments.  By the time I returned to Lagoon, Hilary's family had joined in the fun too.
Thursday, we stayed home in CV and hung out.  Most of the kids opted to go swimming with Jen, Tiffany and Hilary's kids.  It was our relaxing down day.  Friday, Steve drove up to ID to pick up Jantzen from camp and then back to CV.  It was a long day for them.  In the meantime, Tif and I took the kids back to Lagoon.  This time Jen and her kids came too.  The more the merrier!

Other than getting everyone home safely at the end of the day, I also rode the Spider!  It wasn't my favorite and I really couldn't see what got everyone so excited.  It was over rather quickly.

It takes a lot of food to feed all these kids.  Our condolences to Heather and Aaron.  Food disappears quite quickly.  We ate a lot of watermelon, bread, cereal and homemade mac and cheese.
Saturday night, we had fun at our stake Pioneer Celebration.  We had a nice chicken dinner and some games and activities.  The highlights were music by a fiddling group and the Fat Boy ice cream.  There was also a children's parade.  Our group loved the mustaches.

Heather and Aaron returned late Saturday night and slept at Hilary's since all of our bedrooms were full.  After sacrament meeting on Sunday, they left for ID.  They always have lots of things to do.  It was back to lessons, games, etc and the reality of every day living.  We would have felt a big void had Jen and Tiffany and kids not still be with us.  Cousin time is crazy fun!

Elsie's Baptism - July 11, 2015

Elsie Janene was baptized by her father, Aaron, and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on July 11, 2105.  Above she and her mother, Heather, prepare her hair for the event.
Jenna, Abigail, Brinley, Jameson, Korinne and Quinn chat in the bonus room prior to leaving for the church.
Elsie's is getting her baptismal clothing.  There were 10 baptisms in her stake on Saturday.  It was a very nice, well-organized service.

Elsie with her parents, Heather & Aaron, and both sets of grandparents, Steve and Kristen and Janene and Bob and her great grandfather, LaVerne.

Bring on the food.  We had a nice brunch at Heather and Aaron's afterward.  Two of Aaron's brothers, Jared and Chris,  and their families were able to attend.  Two of Heather's sisters, Tiffany and Hilary and part of their families were there too.

Cousins, Korinne, Elsie and Abigail are smiling and enjoying the moment.
I love visiting with Laverne.  He was very good friends with my parents, Bob and Aloha.  I love having that additional connection with this fine gentleman.
