The Rest of the Story...

 On September 6th, Hilary crossed a big accomplishment off her "bucket list".  She successfully completed a challenging 206 mile bike ride with several hard climbs called LOTOJA!  Congratulations to Hilary!  We are proud of her  determination and perseverance.  Our efforts to support her included taking care of the kids so Adam could join the leap frog group from the mid-point to the finish line.

 Our first assignment was to travel back to the SL valley for Britton's soccer game.  While Britton practiced and warmed up for the game, with Steve supervising, I took the younger children to Roger's Bakery and a local playground.  Directly after we downed our first old-fashioned donut, a lady at the soccer game came around and gave us all a cinnamon roll.  Who would have expected that?  Sugar overload already.

 Congrats to Britton.  He scored a goal and they won handily.

 Back at the house, we had a picnic on the front lawn under the trees prior to making our trip to the zoo.

 In spite of the crowds, we had a good time and enjoyed seeing a lot of our favorite animals. Steve and Korinne enjoyed the bird show while we took in the snakes and gorillas.  Jameson was so excited to ride the train that he was jumping up and down in the line.  Once on the train, however, I think he got a little scared as he started howling.  In the end, he didn't want to get off when the ride was over.  Like many other little boys, he loves Thomas The Train and all other trains.

 Sunday morning Jameson and Korinne helped me with my cooking chores including our yearly treat, peach dessert.  This gave Hilary the opportunity to get a little rest.  Since it was fast Sunday, it was hard not to lick my spoons and fingers.

 Monday found us back at the SL place painting the garage door and trim around the front door.  For Steve it was a two coat job.  I was covering dark brown, so mine took three coats.  We still have the front windows to paint before we are finished.  However, since it will take scaffolding and three coats, we may not tackle that until spring.  We are also working on finishing up the inside upstairs.  We want to start advertising it for rent.  That is a big goal for us this next week.
