We spent our work day at the Leavenworth Chapel on August 21st, Steve's 70th birthday!
Our boss, Mark spent several hours trimming branches of various trees while Steve and I loaded branches in the dump trailer. We couldn't believe how many branches we loaded after Steve stomped them down over and over again. Our friends, the Briggs, spent most of their time working on a bad electrical outlet in one of the bishop's office.
After we got all the branches loaded, we took a short break to enjoy the delicious chocolate zucchini bread Vickie made for Steve's birthday! She makes the best zucchini bread ever! Thanks, Vickie!
Fortunately we were able to arrived back home in time to clean up. Even though it was a bit cooler, we worked up a sweat pulling, tugging and lifting. We were able to clean up and make it to the airport in time to meet Tiffany and Abigail at the airport! What a nice birthday gift to have the girls arrive safely for a visit!
Back at home that evening we had a delicious meal of corn beef, cabbage and lots of fruits and vegetables! Steve received emails, phone calls, text and FaceTime birthday wishes from the other kids. All-in-all, it was a nice birthday for our favorite husband, dad, grandfather and brother!
Steve said he wants to do this same thing on his 80th birthday. Here's hoping!
