While Cam, Jessica and Thomas were staying with us, Cam and Thomas helped Steve assemble his new grill designed to smoke food with various types of wood burning pellets. This type of cooking was very popular throughout Missouri when we served our mission. When we had a great chance to get a "smokin" deal at Costco on purchasing one, we couldn't pass it up.
Adam borrowed some tools to put their old bunk beds back together. Here's hoping the boys will USE these bunk beds. They have a tendency to float throughout the house so no one maximizes their rest.

Our neighborhood hosted an Independence Day bike parade and picnic afterward on Monday, July 1st. It was a great hit. The boys loved it and the picnic was the best attended neighborhood event we've ever been too. Congrats to the organizers!
I took the boys to the local library and signed them up for the summer reading program. Jameson has been pretty enthusiastic but AJ is challenged to sit still enough for me to read a book. We keep trying. They had to sit by the desk while I purchased a 3 month library pass.
The Hyrum parade on July 4th was the biggest and longest ever. It lasted about 1 1/2 hours. Most of Hilary's family members were in the parade this year. We enjoyed cheering for them.

Adam, Korinne and Britton assisted in handing out freeze pops. Steve handed them some water when they passed by. The weather was unusually mild that morning which was partially responsible for the big crowds.
Jenna's dance group was absolutely the best group in the parade. It was so fun to watch them dance!
We had a BBQ later that afternoon eating hamburgers, hot dogs, corn, watermelon, etc. We tried our best to get the boys to eat something besides their candy from the parade.
Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays. Patriotism is important to me!
