February Fun!

Our last day in Texas was delightful as the sunshine came out and warmed us all up!  We were able to stroll along the new part of the "River Walk" which had some interesting artistic touches-- Note the fish hanging from the rafters underneath the bridge.  We grabbed a bite to eat at a local burger and shake place called Freddy's before heading to the airport.  Abigail loves chocolate so she didn't mind at all.

Back in Utah we headed north as soon as we could to check on our new grandson, Jameson.  He is growing and doing well and is loved and adored by all in his family.  June and Will loved hanging out with their cousins for a few days too while Taylor was in meetings with his company bosses.
Everyone took advantage of the opportunity to go swimming at the hotel pool one night.  Yahoo!  Thanks to Taylor and Jenn.  It was fun!
The adults really were watching the kids. Hilary and Carrie can crochet hats without looking and Adam can tend Jameson while he watches the swimmers too.  There were lots of supervisors.
Consistent with my plan to celebrate my birthday throughout the month, the February birthday girls got together for lunch last week.  It's a good thing we make this birthday lunch a priority because it seems that we only see each other once a year.  We are going to make an effort to celebrate our half birthday this year too.  Left to right are Mynon, Marlene, Maretta and me.  The three "M's" were born on the same day.  I am a little older as I was born five days earlier.

On Sunday morning, the last day before Taylor's family was to leave for China, it snowed several inches.  Once Will got the hang of it, he loved the snow.  He was running all over and throwing snow at everyone.  He was very unhappy when Taylor literally "dragged" him into the house to get ready for church.

That afternoon, Heather and Aaron's family arrived from Idaho and we invited Dustin and Larah's family over for dinner too.  We all had a great time eating and visiting.  It's been a long time since we had a group family dinner like that.

Costumes and cousins are a terrific combination.  The kids had a ball and didn't want the evening to end.  It was a challenge to get everyone to bed.  Jen and Taylor hardly got any sleep as they left for the airport at 4:30 the next morning.  Steve was a trooper for taking them too!
