On Sunday, we started the day with a huge batch of Grandma's homemade from scratch pancakes and buttermilk syrup. However, I could have made more as there weren't any leftover pancakes.
Later that day after attending church, we gathered for turkey dinner leftovers and then Taylor and Jen left for appointments with friends, family. dentists and doctors.
We met up again with them on Monday evening so we could see the lights and sights at Temple Square.
We first stopped at the Church History Museum where we met up with Jen's brother Ben and his family. Will and June really enjoyed the interactive, hands on displays. We enjoyed learning lots of new things since we hadn't been there since a major remodel.

You can see we were well bundled up to walk around the gorgeous grounds and see the Nativity and the lights. We waited in line inside the Visitor's Center as Will really wanted to see the Christus. On the Monday evening after Christmas, there were many people sharing our enthusiasm for the area.
After our light excursion, we met up with Jen's parents for a meal at Cafe Rio. It was a fun evening.
The next morning, I had a work appointment and Taylor had his doctor visit with the surgeon who will remove his tonsils on Wednesday. Jen had a hair appointment. We all headed for Costco to stock up on supplies and medicines. Yogurt, smoothie ingredients, soup and juice bars were high on Taylor and Jen's list. I bought a few things to take to ID when we go to visit Heather's family. Taylor opted for pizza as one of his last meals before his surgery.
On December 30, McKay's birthday, Taylor was scheduled for his surgery. We all hung out and tried to help with the kids, etc. that afternoon and evening. Taylor was doing pretty well, but definitely needed rest, ice cubes and cold smoothies. Not fun.
I had a 9 a.m. closing on the 31st and then we packed up and headed for ID--Steve, Will and myself. We thought it might be helpful to keep the kids busy elsewhere but June decided not to cooperate with our plan. We had a great visit with Heather's family and I believe that Will really enjoyed himself.
New Year's morning, I made dozens of crepes for breakfast. I guess this is a treat few people want to spend the time cooking. I enjoyed all the smiles that the whipped cream, blackberries, bananas and apple chunks produced.
Even though it was very cold, just a few degrees above zero, Quinn, Will, Elsie and Anna wanted to play in the snow. It was especially enticing since Aaron agreed to pull them behind the 4-wheeler through the snow in their yard. Aaron was hunting for voles. The kids were just having a ball.
We took a couple of walks while we were there. The scenery was spectacular and included the snow covered Tetons. We especially loved the panoramic blue, pink and purple sunset but we didn't get any pictures. The kids played a lot of Star Wars games and everyone performed on the piano for us, including Will.
That evening after everyone was warmed up, the kids and I made and decorated gingerbread cookies.
And I HAD to read my new Christmas book to my grandchildren. I love reading to my grandchildren.
We enjoyed our kick-back relaxing time with Heather's family. Jantzen and Tanner were there, but I am sorry I didn't get any photos of them. Darn. We watched a couple of movies, got zoned, cooked and visited with their family and Aaron's parents, Bob and Janene.
Saturday morning we packed up and drove 30 minutes south to watch Anna's basketball game. Our proudest moment was when she made a beautiful shot from outside of the key. She did a good job of following her coach's directions. We had Elsie, Quinn and Will in the car on our way to the game. Quinn really was happier than this as he really loves basketball.
After the game, we stopped by my sister, Jackie's house, to deliver some belated Christmas gifts. It was fun to see her with her new haircut. She started date New Year with a new look. Then were were on our way to meeting up with Taylor's family back in CV.
