We gave the group several options for Saturday activities and let them create the schedule. The only commitment we had was a tour we had arranged for the childhood home of the latter-day prophet, David O. McKay.
After our breakfast which consisted of an oatmeal bar, both old fashioned and steel-cut or Irish options with a myriad of toppings, my grandmother Lillian's raisin cupcakes (muffins) and fruit, a large portion of the group set out to find a hiking trail. We ended up hiking up a portion of the road where Tanner's group had run their Ragnar race earlier this summer which linked Cache Valley with Ogden Valley. Several members of our group had left earlier for biking excursions, with Taylor and Jen first to venture out.
Because Taylor and Jen were riding their bikes, Tiffany ended up carrying June on a goodly portion of our hike. June loves the attention. Way to go, Tif!
We returned to the house for lunch before setting out to tour the McKay home in Huntsville.
President McKay's family members continue to give complimentary tours almost every Saturday throughout the summer. It was fun to hear the family stories and come to appreciate their sacrifice and dedication to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our son, McKay, was named for this beloved prophet of our youth.

We were very blessed to have a shady spot open up just as we arrived at the lake and unloaded our gear. Those were extremely rare and Steve and I especially appreciated it as the weather was hot and dry. It was perfect for playing in the water and on the beach. Later in the afternoon, Steve and I drove back to the house to put the potatoes in the oven for our baked potato bar supper and grab some water and snacks. We think everyone enjoyed the kayaks and the paddle board thing. The kids played in the sand and had a great time on this log which had roots in the sand.
Back at the house for another healthy meal, lots of stories, laughter, puzzles, jumping, etc. We kept things low key so everyone could get a lot of visiting time. Some of us enjoyed another walk down the lane at sunset. This valley surrounded by mountains is truly beautiful!
