Attending Church

Here we are coming out of the meeting house in China. They recently were granted permission to move to an office building which has a large conference room. It is very nice and can handle about 500 people. They had been meeting in a small house which was very overcrowded. Their LDS branch doesn't get General Conference live. They watch a recorded version a week later so we attended Fast & Testimony Meeting. People from all over the world shared their testimonies of Christ's gospel. We had the privilege of witnessing William's blessing. Taylor gave a beautiful blessing. Steve and other priesthood holders assisted. We felt very lucky to be there for this special event. It was awesome attending church in Shanghai. We went up the escalator. At the top you turn right to go to the auditorium for sacrament meeting. You turn left to go to classes. Here is the driver who works for Taylor. He arranged for a mini-van for the time we were there, so we would have plenty of room. Having a car and driver really spoiled us. It was so nice to be chauffered around through the busy streets filled with buses, taxis, scooters and lots of bicycles and carts. Driving in China is not for the faint hearted. The vehicles literally come within inches of each other.
Here is the outside of the building where church is held. Many people take taxis to and from church. We watched one larger American family fill up 2 taxis to go home. Fortunately, taxis are pretty cheap but hard to get during a rainstorm.
