Taylor & Jen's New Apartment

A few days before we arrived in Shanghai, Taylor and Jen moved to a new apartment on the PuDong side of the river. Here we are just outside of the entrance to their building. There are dozens of buildings in the complex with about 27 or 28 levels in each building. The complex is gated and you have to have ID to gain entrance.
It is almost like a big huge park with walkways, decks, patios, fountains, trees, grass and several pools and playgrounds. There is a huge kiddy pool near their building. We went with Will a couple of times because it was scheduled to close for the winter by the middle of Sept. I think there is an indoor pool also.

This slide is part of the shallow children's pool.

This playground is directly in front of their building. You can see it out of their window. It will be so convenient to take Will out to play. There were lots of kids so I'm sure they will make some friends.

Our group is out for a Sunday evening stroll along with many other people who live in the complex.

This view from their balcony shows some of the dozens of buildings in the complex.
Here is another view that shows a large wooden deck. A few people exercise there early in the morning.

Look through the sliding door and you will see a few clothes hanging out to dry. We hung a lot of clothes the first few days until the dryer arrived. Hanging clothes out is the Chinese way.

Their kitchen is much larger and nicer and they have a real oven. It's a bit tricky trying to figure out the temperature but it worked for the brownies Jen made.

The large master bathroom has a huge tub, shower and a toilet with a bidet option.

When the laundry was finally set up and working, here it what it looked like.
Steve is standing near the entrance. See the door to the right.
These doors cover the "shoe closet". Perfect for Taylor, don't you think?
He still had a few pairs of shoes scattered around. Imelda who?
A lot of the rooms had too much furniture in them. Here you can see that they could barely get the pack 'n play into Will's room. Steve improved the situation by taking the bed apart and putting it into the maid's room which is really the storage room.
Will likes his room much better now. There's room for him and a few toys.

Thanks for putting up these pictures of Taylor and Jen's place. Wow! Will is not a baby anymore, is he?
