On Saturday while Hilary and Taylor were running their Ragnar relay race with their respective teams, Steve and I drove north to spend the day with Jen and Will. We didn't want her to be alone just in case. Adam, Britton, Jenna and Korinne hadn't yet left to go south and meet Hilary so we all went to Summerfest for lunch. It's a wonderful arts festival. We enjoyed the portion was saw so much that we want to add it to our calendar for next year. It is reminiscent of Swiss Days held in Sept in another community minus the sauerkraut.
The lunch options were varied and delicious. They had things like hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, baked potatoes, Chinese, pork sandwiches, and Dutch oven dinner. Of course their were lots of goodies too. I went for the Dutch oven dinner and shared with several others. It was fantastic!

The kids all wanted a Zeppe's afterward. It was a type of Italian ice that was yummy.
After lunch, Adam and group headed south and Jen, Will, Steve and I headed northeast to check out the facilities for our family reunion in July. Here is the pool. The water was much warmer than the nearby lake. The depth varied from 1 1/2 feet to 5 in the middle. The kids should really enjoy it.
The 7 bedroom, 7 bath cabin we have rented has a huge covered deck with a hot tub and a gorgeous view of the lake. Steve will enjoy sitting on the deck, enjoying the view, eating and talking and laughing with his kids and grandkids.

Before heading back to pick up Taylor, we HAD to stop of and try out the famous local food. You may not be able to read the sign on the roof. It says Famous Rasberry Shakes. We ordered too many and ate too much but it was soooo good.
After we picked up Taylor, it was time to eat again. It seems we are all about the food. Here are Jen and Will waiting for our pizza at the local "hot spot." We enjoyed the fellow who sang and played his guitar. Will just loved running around and chasing the cute little girls. We learned that its hard for a guy to pick up chicks with "poopy" pants. Even a guy as cute as Will.

It turned out to be a wonderful "pre Father's Day" outing. We had great food, fabulous company and the scenery in both of the canyons was truly spectacular. The lush greenary dotted with yellow and purple wildflowers and snow covered mountain peaks was incredible. The river was full and rushing wildly and there were numerous patches of snow some even next to the road. The lake was so full that most of the beaches has disappeared. It is truly an unusual weather year.
