Our Three-Day Weekend

 Heather and the kids decided to drive to CV on the Saturday before MLK day.  They were mostly inspired by the fact that Aaron had a huge work project and Jen, Will and June were flying in from China on Monday. That way they could hang around with us a bit, have a change of scenery, etc. and see the Chinese cousins too.  We got together with Hilary's family for meals starting on Saturday evening.  You know we never miss a meal in the Price family--except for Fast Sundays of course.

 It was fun to have Heather, Quinn, Jantzen, Brinley, Anna, Elsie and Tanner join us at church.  We really filled a long bench.  It was awesome to me!

 Quinn and Jameson are learning how to play a bit.  Most of the time things went really well.

 Sunday after church and dinner, we decided to watch a pioneer movie named Ephriam's rescue about the rescue of the handcart companies from the early Wyoming winter snows.  It was outstanding and really caused us to appreciate our ancestors and our blessings.  We finished the evening with a round of seconds from Cousin Casper's ice cream business.

 Jantzen and Tanner spotted a bunch of deer in our front yard which migrated to our back yard.  This is my attempt to photograph them.  If you look hard, you may see some eyes.

 On Monday, Hilary, Heather and I took all the kids except Jameson ice skating at an outdoor rink in CV. It was a sunny but crisp afternoon with lots of kids waiting in line to rent skates.  We were fortunate to get all the kids out on the ice without too much delay.  It was delightful watching the kids skate with each other and their moms with the beautiful temple watching over us.
Unfortunately, the photos are all mixed up and I am not adept at changing the order so the skating pictures are at the end.

Steve picked up Jen, Will and June at the airport while we were skating.  They arrived in time for supper and family home evening.  It was so awesome to see them.  After the long travel time with no sleep and all the time zone changes, Will was feeling under the weather.  We were happy we got to spend the evening with them because they spent most of Tuesday in bed or in their room.  We were so sad they didn't feel well.

We did have family home evening with everyone where we discussed how important the local temple was to our family.  Tanner played the piano and Jenna led the music.  It was fun.  We topped the evening off with more seconds on ice cream.  That was mostly so the adults could enjoy the ice cream sundaes with homemade hot fudge sauce and peanuts.  We also sang Happy Birthday to Heather as her birthday was the next day.

The next morning I cooked crepes with fresh berries and whipped cream for the kids.  Jenna, Korinne and Britton missed out on those as they had school that day.  Heather and Jen were able to get in a good winter run.  Hilary was a little sad she was already cleaned up and dressed for the day.  She declined to get all messed up.

The kids helped Hilary with my business mailer.  That was much appreciated.  That afternoon, Heather and family headed north.  Steve and I drove south.  Jen stayed one more day in CV but unfortunately it wasn't much fun as she got sick.  Things went downhill from there for them.  It is really sad that they came all the way from China to visit with everyone and except for a few hours, they have been sick.
