Everyone brought incredible side dishes to accompany the salmon and chicken that Marlene provided and Steve grilled. It was a wonderful evening.
My Dad and Ann left last Sunday for a cruise to the Mexican Rivera. Here Dad demonstrates his new walker which can also be pushed like a wheelchair if he gets tired. I can't wait to hear all about their trip. I think it's fantastic that a 96 year old wanted to go on a cruise because "he hadn't been on a Mexican cruise yet." You've gotta love it!
Saturday Korinne, Britton and Jenna came down to watch a professional soccer game. Britton and Jenna got to escort the visiting team members out to the field. How fun for them. Here they are in their soccer shirts. Korinne is too young to play for now but she wasn't about to be left out of the "uniform experience."
That night we drove up to their place so we could watch them perform in the annual Primary Program. They did a wonderful job. The whole program was outstanding--a real tear jerker for me. Hilary is the primary president of 150 kids. She wrote and directed the entire program and it flowed smoothly. We were very impressed. It was just perfect down to the last minute. Congratulations to all who worked so hard to prepare it.
Adam was sustained as elders' quorum president on the same day. They are going to be one busy family. It was worth waiting until he finished his meetings to have some of his homemade rolls for dinner. Ah! Now that's heaven.
Just before dinner, 4 children arrived from neighbor's family. On Saturday their parents were hiking the local mountains and got stuck up there after dark. It took all night for Search and Rescue to get them down. They were "sorely" in need of some sleep so we all helped out for a few hours.
We returned home tired but happy and full of rolls.
I think that Hilary is pretty happy that she doesn't have seven kids.

Even Steve helped with the little ones. I forgot to mention that Steve and I substituted for a primary teacher who was ill and taught a lesson on telling the truth to a group of 6 year olds. Our lesson was a complete failure however. At the end of the lesson, we asked the children what grade they were in at school. Everyone was either in kindergarten or first grade except for one little adorable blond girl who told us she was in grade 3. She had difficulty writing her name, so we're pretty certain that she missed the point of the lesson. We found out she is in kindergarten.

How fun of Marlene to plan a yummy dinner...good to see the Burton's again.
I am so grateful for modern technology and blogging. It makes it possible for me to keep up with your busy life. I never know where you will be next. Good job Hilary with the Pimary program!!!
