Short But Sweet!

It was hard to say goodbye to our loved ones. Tricia said goodbye to her parents and Nancy and John after the first Saturday session of Conference. They were headed to Maryland. We stretched out Saturday as long as we could as Libbie and Jeff left from the hotel early on Sunday morning for their long drive south. It's a good thing we had Conference to enjoy throughout the day. We were extremely happy they made the trip, so we tried to focus on the positive and not allow too much sadness to creep in. We still had Tiffany, Abigail and McKay's family together. It was a lovely but rainy day.

Monday was our adventure day. Tricia allowed Jessica and Cameron to miss school so we drove to Hershey to check out Chocolate World and the zoo. It was too cold and rainy so we just exhausted the chocolate experience including yummy cocoa with whipped cream.

Later that evening, we took the kids to the open house at the local fire station while Tricia & McKay had a little time together. We enjoyed looking at the fire trucks, meeting the remote control fire dog and some of the real fire dogs too. It was a terrific family home evening activity.

On Tuesday we toured McKay's campus before we headed to the airport. One item of interest was the very first Packard automobile. It was in a glass box very beautifully preserved. He teaches at a gorgeous university.

We stopped for lunch at an establishment that has been in business since 1750. The lunch was a bit pricey and only average so I'm guessing that they are famous for their liquor and beers, not their food. It was fun to imagine so many people coming there throughout the years, however. When we arrived at the airport, we were lucky to be able to spend an extra hour with Tiffany and Abigail as we departed from the same terminal. The play area was kind of fun and Abigail was all smiles until we headed for the jetway. Then Tiffany had to deal with the tears as Abigail loves visiting her cousins and grandparents. It's nice to be loved.

We love all of you too. I love spending time with my children and grandchildren. These moments are truly precious to me.
