Update on my brother...

Besides doing a lot with my work, I spent quite a bit of time at the hospital in March with my brother, Greg.  On the 12th of March, he had surgery removing about half of his stomach.  He had such bad ulcers and scar tissue that he hadn't been able to eat or drink since November.  At that time they inserted a feeding tube directly into his intestine to nourish him and help him gain some weight before they could do the surgery.
It was a rough 12 days in the hospital but he is doing much better and eating regular food in small doses.  He still has the feeding tube at night for now.  As family members, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to my brother, Steve, who has spent many days and several nights with Greg when he finally came home, helping him to get stronger and cleaning and organizing his apartment.  Steve, you are amazing.  Thanks for all that you have done.
I've been a soup maker and cookie baker but now he is requesting more "real" food with substance.  Time to "up the program."
