While Steve was in South Caroline helping Libbie and Xander, I drove to Idaho and attended Steve's cousin's funeral. Just 2 weeks prior to his 80th birthday, Parley Payne, passed away. Parley had his first major heart attack when he was in his 50's so it was amazing that he lived for another 30 years, especially considering that he had been a long time smoker. Parley had been a citizen who donated much time and money throughout the years to helping others in the community. His funeral was well-attended.
There are only three cousins from that generation still living--Linda, Steve and his sister Kathy.
Here is a picture of Linda, in the middle, with her daughter Michelle and Michelle's son.
Steve's cousin, Hazel was Parley's sister. Her two living sons, Robbie and Jon pose with Steve's sister, Kathy. Below Linda poses with Jon and his significant other.
Robbie Lieberman and Kathy.
Parley has two living children, Danny and Sarah. Here Danny with his wife, and pose with Kathy's son, Logan and his wife, Jessica who also attended the memorial service for Parley.
Together with Kathy and Brent, we provided the ham for the luncheon and cheesy potatoes, commonly known as funeral potatoes. Other friends brough salads and desserts. The luncheon was served in the local Elks Club and was very nice.
I realized that I had neglected to post a photo of two Steve's most famous relatives. Here is Kathy flanked by Pres (Preston) on the left and Will on the right. These are the sons of Steve's deceased cousin, Billy Drew. Billy Drew was the daughter of Duber (Preston) & Bobby Price. Duber was the brother of Steve's dad, Bill. These two second cousins are true mountain men and wilderness experts. They can hunt, shoot, ride and track like "nobody's business."
